Yup same here - I abhor the caps they impose here. I once had a Sympatico package that was capped (without my knowledge, of course) and it wasn't so much the downloads that were killing the cap, it was the uploads when I was sharing files (Bittorrent or Kazaa). Many of the better US DSL providers have no such cap - they understand that consumers can simply take their money elsewhere. Here, you can threaten to take your money elsewhere, but last time I checked, the smaller providers (Primus, openface, 3Web?) basically piggyback on Bell's infrastructure, so they can promise you the world, but are bound by Bell's limitations..."I wish I could quit you" is what I keep muttering to myself every time I have to deal with Bell's customer service, but I need hi-speed for my work as well as play, so...
Also, skip the blah TV: download quality programming (via Bittorrent or other) like Friday Night Lights, The Wire, Extras (UK), Secret Diary of a Call Girl (UK), Top Gear (UK), Survivorman (I think Canadian), content that's though-provoking & intelligent, and generally only available on the US networks or "specialty" channels, that could justify the monthly expense on hi-speed...

They're targetting it to families and places with more than one computer, who will supposedly be doing different things with different sites and might need a larger bandwidth.

And of course as the Internet gets faster the bottleneck won't always be on the other side.

But yeah, the cap sucks. It shows they don't really want to service the power Internet user.

What is the point in paying $80 a month for this if theoretically you can use up your bandwidth allowed for the whole month in less than half an hour?
