If you can score a US credit card, then Amazon will ship to Canada. I do it all the time, sending "gifts" to myself, lol.

I'm not so sure it's Amazon.com that refuses to ship products (excluding books and DVDs) to Canada, so much as it is manufacturers themselves who enforce this rule on Amazon. And yeah, there are a whole lot of products that I would love to get from Am.com that aren't available on the Am.ca site, but can't.
Conversely, many Canadian sports stores (MEC comes to mind) were forbidden from shipping stuff to the US. I know this is the case with climbing equipment.
But thanks for the info regarding Freeport. I'll gladly pay my share of taxes for the upkeep of our social services, but if I'm still being forced to pay more for what should be lower, than I'm sending out a big "screw you" to the stores. Because, if it is a whack-a-mole domino scheme, than perhaps stores can start pressuring up the chain.
