Wow !! At least it seems it really exists out there someone who's still capabable of dreaming and thinking of going ahead, while around all the self-centered nobodies are still lying on the floor crying out how they are so-so-miserable, so-so-poor, that we're so-so-behind, that we should be left there to so-so-die as myrtyrs of this so-so-unfair world.

This is very cool. I'm all for that. It's a great move and the only that would stop this would be political reasons which, like you say, are quite significant.

Egads! House the United Nations? This city can barely house its own citizens in a sound manner, structurally speaking.

And given Quebec's, er... how can I put this ..."lagging behind" in embracing honestly cosmopolitan and unifying attitudes towards differing cultures - it would be hypocritical, on a symbolic level at least, to do so.

Given our string of architectural fiascoes and rotting infrastructure, I have to consider them brave to even think or moving here. They should hope the buildings don't collapse while thy're inside them and consider themselves lucky if those buildings don't come tumbling down before they're even finished.

Wow. That is great news for Montreal if it really happens. Would not be a bad idea as the Montreal Protocol is based here and currently, UN offices are scattered around the city. However, General Assembly meetings would mean major traffic tie-ups. I was in NYC during the last meeting and everyone knows to avoid that part of town.
