Vegan in Montreal
Hi everyone! I’m in town visiting for a few days from Los Angeles and am on the hunt for good Vegan places I should check out while here. Thanks to the Google I found veganmontreal.com which has a pretty good list of places to eat but the thing about lists is you don’t really get a feel for what is really good and what is so-so. Has anyone been to any of these places and have any thoughts on them? What about anything that didn’t make it to the list? Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Chu Chai. Hands down.
Spirite Lounge is definitely recommended for the overall, wacky and whimsical dining experience. Very unique ambience, wait staff, and ingredients! I go fairly often to Yuan for some inventive Chinese vegetarian food, and it’s cheap. Their lunchtime buffet is an especially good deal. Not a big fan of Commensal. Chu Chai is pretty good but expensive for what you get, in my opinion.
All the vegans I know adore Aux Vivres (they got the name wrong on that site). Also, Blue Monday – the first place on their list – is now closed, I am sad to report.
Bonnie’s has also been closed for relocation but is expected to reopen in a week or two.
Hi Sean,
Welcome to Montreal!
You can try this place Yuan that I posted about.
Not sure if it’s strictly vegan, but it is definitely vegetarian and pretty tasty IMHO.
Go to Burritoville in NDG and your stomach will be very happy with you.
