Chien chaud is literally French for hot dogs, except nobody says chien chaud. On an uneventful day, you can say “Je veux un chien chaud” and it might bring a few smiles and laughs.

I think alas Pool Room lost a little bit of its appeal, it used to have the best “normal” hot dogs in town. The special crown used to be (in my books) awarded to the Lux. I still haven’t found good places that could replicate these. So for now, my best hot dogs are the ones I create myself on my barbecue. I only hope to stand corrected someday.
