Sign-up to Communauto. It has been quite useful for me since the strike started.

We are all suffering because those who are on strike aren't even qualified for the jobs they do have (nepotism) . Similar jobs in our sector would pay minimum wage. BUT since they're working for the CITY, they feel entitled to wages that normally compensate those with a higher education. I hate the fact that instead of continuing their education to EARN higher wages, they forcefully strike for instant gratification. We're paying the price!

defenitely something has been going on for a long time that got to the point of such a grave strike with consequences to come

they must have a point to do that, they are well organized and made their point, but i am sure that on the other side of the coin this should have been expected and prepared for
i am sure lots of lazy bums in the top management will soon see the light of the day and leave their fancy offices if they would have not prepared a contingency plan to deter such serious effects

the sad thing is that people like me will be suffering

and what i am considering now is buying a vehicle is the best way to go on the long run!

This is just terrible for me. It couldn't come at at a worse time.

Finishing my high school credits as of June 22. I have to find a way to get from Villeray (Jean Talon Metro) to De Buillon Street (Sherebrooke) Wait that's not bad part.

School starts at 1 for me. Busses/Metros aren't in service at that time.

The taxi would cost me to much to get in from here and the traffic on st-laurent.. What is worse is that well IM MOVING TO ST-DOROTHEE in about a week and a half.

I just pray this ends soon.. real soon.

This is only the first day of the strike and it's already making me mad. A friend of mine invited me to a vernissage tonight at his school and if I go (I really do want to go), I'll have to kill some time downtown before the metro resumes so I can go home. I feel for those who work across the city -- they're the ones who'll pay the most for that strike. Fortunately for me, this is gonna be easier to deal with (I could always bike from Mercier to downtown) than last time there was a strike (back then, I lived in NDG and worked in Anjou...).

My prediction is that this strike will last something between 2 weeks and a month. We're too close to the festival season for the government to let this strike last forever.
