Big Snow Soon Goes
.. well it does if you live in LaSalle. Environment Canada tells us that we had 34.4 mm of precipitation yesterday, Friday. That’s because they melt it to measure it. 10 to 1 is the assumed conversion from water to snow so that means we had 34 cm of snow. That’s a very respectable snowfall by anyone’s standards.
It’s 8:30 am Saturday morning and most of it has been removed. Many streets in LaSalle are designed to cope with this kind of snowfall: they’re wide enough to have a huge bank of snow on one side of the road, cars parked on the other side and still room for 2 cars to pass on the road between. Signs were put on the huge snow bank yesterday and already it’s gone.
Congratulations to all those involved.
