Even More Signs Of Climate Change

Golfers on the greens, Canada Geese staying with us, no ice-fishing on Lake of Two Mountains or even at Sainte-Anne de la Pérade. .. The list goes on. Farther afield, this week cars are buried in an unprecedented avalanche in Colorado.

Clearly the right actions must be taken as a matter of priority. Finally the politicians understand that we’re all concerned about our environment. There’s an excellent discussion on this in the Toronto Star, entitled “Sense of fragility could lead to shift“. It was written by a Montreal journalist, Mark Abley, who is a former reporter with the Montreal Gazette.

While I am in complete agreement that something needs to be done regarding climate change (RIDE YOUR BIKE) I think it’s a mistake to blame this current warm weather on climate change.

Climate change is a pattern of warmer weather over longer periods of time. It’s a tendancy not a one shot phenomenon.. If say we get more and more winters like this current winter, then I think you could point to global warming. But this current weather is a little out of the ordinary.

Remember, some Conservatives made the same argument in reverse when temperatures were below normal.
