Looking to Jam

A somewhat personal note.. if you may permit.
I’ve been playing guitar now for some six years.. Five years as a teen thinking it would score me babes followed by 15 years off after I realized that the babes weren’t coming.
A year ago, I took the plunge and got myself back into it. A year of going through guitar teacher after another searching for a teacher I could click with (I have found that teacher, he’s incredible. If you are looking for a teacher, drop me a line) and I’m finally in a situation where I feel like I don’t completely suck.
It’s been a while since I followed the local music scene. I got tired of looking for the next big hyped thing only to find it just being the next big hyped thing.. They tell me the music scene here is alive and that there are great bands to be seen.
My resolution for 2007 is to bring my game up a little.. In the 6 or so years I’ve been playing I have never played in a band. I know, hard to believe but there it is. So, for those of you practicing musicians, I’m on the lookout for open jam sessions. I’m looking for gang of guys in their mid 30’s who just want to play a few tunes once a week or so and maybe have a beer after. If you know of any open jam sessions, I’d be very interested to hear about them.
Happy New Year.
