A little snow would be nice about now

I was out today at exactly noon and I noticed how long the shadows are cast. My shadow was much taller than I am! Even though it’s warm for this time of year, we are entering the darkest two months of the year. The coldest months lag behind the darkest months and I bet we’re in for a rude awakening around here soon. A little snow would brighten things up a bit though, don’t you think? If I have to leave and come home in the dark, at least make it pretty for me during the day. Plus it’s the holiday season, shouldn’t we have a little decoration around here from mother nature by now? At least when there’s snow on the ground, it makes everything a little bit brighter.

Last year’s first snowstorm was a year ago tomorrow (Nov. 26), so I suppose (or hope) a first snowfall shouldn’t be too far behind, unless we get one of these winters that don’t really start till January…

Hoping for snow?!! I’m already dreaming palm trees in Florida.

I don’t know why people are saying it’s the holiday season now. It’s not even December yet. The whole thing gets so stretched out it becomes meaningless.

It would be so much more effective if we didn’t do “holiday season” till the solstice, and then celebrated till after New Year’s. Twelve days of Christmas should be enough for anybody.
