I can’t find anything online on either CTV/Montreal or on the Canada AM site, but the 6 am local news and then Canada AM at 6:30 have announced that the shooter in yesterday’s college shooting in 25-year-old Kimveer Gill who was a Laval resident.

According to CTV’s Rob Lurie reported that Gill had a blog on a goth hive site (the blog has since been taken down by police) where he had posted dozens of pictures of himself with guns and knives, wrote about his hatred of “jocks”, and that he hoped he would die either like Romeo and Juliet or in a shower of bullets.

The student who died yesterday was identified as an 18-year-old girl named Anastasia de Souza; my heart goes out to her family.

I’ll update with links once the news sites catch up with their television broadcasts.

The Montreal General Hospital will also be holding a brief press conference at 7:15 am today to address the current state of patients brought in yesterday.
