Solidarity
On this 5th anniversary of 9/11, I’m glad that metroblog exists to link us to New York City. Those who have posted their thoughts and recounted their stories have given us the privilege of sharing in their hugely personal reactions. The horror of that day seems that less distant and the wounds that more raw. No matter the current politics, New Yorkers should know that there are those in the rest of the world who mourn with them in solidarity and remember with them side by side even if separated by distance.

Just wanted to give a thanks out to the Montreal Metroblogging community for keeping us Montrealers here in NYC in touch with happenings back home!
Someone once told me that there is nothing we can do for the dead, but we can take care of the living…15,000 out of 40,000 ground zero workers are affected with permanent health problems. Let’s hope and pray that they get the attention they deserve for doing their job and for going beyond the call of duty.
