Sometimes it’s hard not to laugh
I’m so happy no one else has blogged this yet because I’m still giggling. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find the story on any of my regular news sources, so no link yet; I read it on the local news ticker that streams along the bottom of the screen during Canada A.M. (confession - I love Canada A.M. shamelessly, which may have to do with a combination of enjoying their topics and my crush on Seamus O’Regan), and my first thought was “I have to post this!”
A man is currently in hospital and is potentially facing criminal charges after he tried to parachute off a Hydro tower on Ile Charron near Longueuil. He was caught because - and this is what makes me laugh - his chute got stuck on the tower and police found him dangling in mid-air.
Of course, it would be less funny (yet strangely Darwinian) if it had turned tragic, but since he’s mostly fine it’s one of those stories that is hilarious while also making you shake your head in wonder.
Update: Here’s a link courtesy of CBC.
