Got A/C?
(It should be noted that this is my very first entry here and I am ridiculously nervous, even though I have no reason to be. I just wanted to get that out of the way. Whew.)
I thought I would go ahead and start off my first post at Montreal Metroblogs by doing something Canadians are stereotypically known for - let’s talk about the weather. Or when it reaches extremes like this, maybe it should be referred to as The Weather.
I just checked in at The Weather Network to see the local forecast. I am going to go thank every deity I can think of for air conditioning because it’s going up to 32 degrees today. Factor in the humidex and it will feel like 42 out there. They’ve even issued a severe heat warning for the area.
I complain about cold winters but not as much as I complain about high heat and humidity. Days like this make me want to hide as far away from the window as possible, perhaps eating icecream and guzzling water under the A/C unit in the living room. I was visiting my non-air-conditioned parents yesterday and nearly melted so I’m really glad I’ll be in my own home today. If you need to go outside today, be sure to slap on the sunscreen, seek out the shade, drink a lot of water, and don’t overdo it!

Welcome to Metroblogging Sherry!
Having to spend the day in an air-conditionned office is the only positive point of my return from summer vacations.
Indeed you have no reason to be nervous, so welcome. Weather… it sounds like something I would right about.
Thanks for the kind welcome!
Welcome to the family! ;)
I went out this morning to a shopping mall… When I came back home around 13h it was much hotter. The bus ride seemed to be never-ending!
And I spent the rest of the day home with the airco on. :D
Wait, you have air conditioning? Can I come over? Please?
Vila - You don’t? You have my sympathies. We didn’t for a long time but we managed to get a window unit for the living room and the bedroom and it cools down most of the rooms for us, whew!
