Is Google having problems?

In case others are having the same problem, I have not been able to contact any Google domain for the last 36 hours. I use Videotron as my ISP and they say the problem is with Google. Doing a tracert on an attempt to visit www.google.com shows contact with Google IPs but no communication is established. I also do not see Google Adsense ads in the Metroblog blog. Since I have changed nothing in my settings, I’m wondering whether this is a wide-spread problem.

Weird… yesterday a friend of mine IM-me to tell me the same…. but I’m also with Videotron and I have no problem, fast access to the site, queries are ok, any other google service also ok…

I’ve also had no problems, but Videotron could have a worm or virus that only affects some of their clients.

I use Gmail and search Google a lot, so I know when Google’s having issues.

(I haven’t had to call Videotron for a couple years, so I hope this little comment doesn’t lead to any problems. I love the product, and hope the customer service can come close to equaling it one day.)

DAMN right it is. Can’t even ping the DNS names or the IP addresses. It’s driving me nuts

Google is fine. It’s only the gmail adresses (URL) that are shot.

And according to the videotron newsgroup there are difficulties but like in all newsgroups, nothing contructive is being said.

    I want my Gmail >:(

    Merry Christmas to all :D

I received this message earlier from Videotron Technical Service:
This problem was caused by a routing problem with Level 3 routers (our provider) which blocks any packets sent to some sites. Their administrators have been contacted and are working on the problem .
I have now just received this message from Videotron Technical Service:
Yes I’m sorry, the problem with Level 3 is still there, and they’re still working on the problem.

We’re on Videotron while we’re visiting Montreal this week. I’ve had off and on trouble accessing google but nothing that seems to last for very long.

I fear you’re right, Warren. I’ve had no further problems since then. You might want to do a Google search for exactly what happens on your computer. This may turn up some advice on what to do.
