I have recently enjoyed shopping on Sherbrooke Street West in all the little shops east of Decarie. I also love shopping along Mont Royal.
I like walking along Ste-Catherine, especially the western half, but I don’t spend much money there. By far our favorite mall is the Fairview on St-Jean, not too big but with a good density of interesting stores.
If you really want to separate me from my hard-earned cash, just drop my family in a Chapters. I recently received the renewal notice for my iRewards card and part of the sales pitch included the statistic that the 10% discount that comes with this program has saved me $67 over the past year. That’s a lot of books.
I stick to the downtown area for clothes (Ste-Catherine, Eatons, etc.). Rockland is closer to me, but I like the downtown atmosphere. A lot of my music and books are bought on Amazon. Can’t always find the CDs I want at HMV and I can get better deals online.
I like shopping in my neighbourhood for my weekly stuff… I like the Pharmaprix, the Metro supermarket, the local bakery and boucherie, etc. That’s what I like about living in the same neighbourhood for a while, you get to know everything that’s out there very well!
But for clothes, gifts, etc I like to go to the Eaton centre. Just because it’s easily accessible (downtown) and has a good variety of stores. Plus I think they have the best food court in all of the shopping malls!
