The Big O

Recently in the news there were articles on both La Ronde being up for sale and the roof on the Olympic Stadium being replaced. The combination of the two reminded me of an amusement park from my childhood and a possible solution to the Olympic Stadium

Last spring, I remember a pretty neat proposal from a group to turn the stadium into the next CHUM (Montreal University Hospital Center)

Personnaly I think the Big O should be bulldozed. It’s virtually useless and considered unsafe.

As an architect, I think the design is impressive and should be kept. As a recent immigrant, I am only recently learning about the history of heartache regarding the stadium. Like the architect being extremely arrogant. Outside of Quebec, people find it to be one a great attribute to the city and province. They generally don’t know about the history of it relevant to the locals.
