Great Montrealers

I see last night there was a tribute to 4 Great Montrealers given by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. They are personalities, who have marked the history of our city and have distinguished themselves in the economic, social, cultural and scientific sectors.

The four 2005 Great Montrealers are:
Paul Desmarais jr., OC, Chairman and Co-CEO of Power Corporation of Canada
Dr. Margaret Lock, Anthropologist, Marjorie Bronfman Professor of Social Studies of Medecine, McGill University
Alain Simard, President-managing director, L’Equipe Spectra
Dr. Henry Mintzberg, John Cleghorn Professor of Management Studies, Faculty Director, International Masters for Health Leadership, McGill University

The four Great Montrealers signed the City of Montreal’s Gold Book in the presence of Mr. G

Thanks, Frank, for collecting those. There are some very interesting people there. I see from a mention in the Montreal Gazette that the list also includes Pierre Elliott Trudeau, film director Denys Arcand and drug-store mogul Jean Coutu. It’s a pity there doesn’t seem to be a Board of Trade web page on this.
