Double Parking Tickets at Montreal

I heard a radio report yesterday morning that the company operating the parking meters is now issuing its own ticket in addition to the ticket it may give you from the Ville de Montreal, if you overstay the time for which you have paid. I can find nothing about this on the website of Stationnement De Montr

got a parking ticket today while visiting from Nova Scotia - $ 141.00 - unbelievable….!!! In Halifax it’s 12.00. Seems I was charged BOTH for stopping (100.00) and parking (41.00) illegally (after 3:30 on R.L.Boulevard).
Can they charge me for BOTH or only one or the other - $ 141.00 seems proposterous for that type of offense…..
    Anyone have any thoughts ?
