No doubt writers are needed,

When I first started showing interesting for writing here, that was even before Montreal Metblog was created in December 2004, I was told that for a city to open, about 10 writers are required. Somewhere along the way, the list has come down to 6 bloggers. I have no idea how that happened.

When I started out, I didn’t even know if I would last all this time when it started, because I already had/have my own blog.

By the way, I’m going to start getting sick if the weather keeps going up and down all day long like this.

And as usual, The Magic of Lanterns at the Montreal Botanical Garden is wonderful.

Quite simple, if a writer stops contributing regularly I send them a reminder. If it doesn’t work, I crack the whip. If it still doesn’t work they will either ask to be removed or I will do it myself.

Don’t worry, they won’t cut us loose because we have less than 10 writers, our traffic and posting frequency are in the average.

But we are indeed looking for more writers. If you are interested, the application form is here.

What are you looking for in a Montreal writer? Because, often the things I have to say about Montreal aren’t all shiny and happy things.

Don’t get me wrong; I love my city, but I love it more they way you love a drunk parent. You have those memories before the booze, there were the occasional happy birthdays, but ultimately, you get tired of cleaning up the empty bottles and explaining to the neighbours that its really just turrets that causes the outbursts.

“Our critics are our friends, they show us our faults” —Benjamin Franklin.

So don’t worry if you only have bad things to say. You also have the possibility to add humor to whatever is bad. Think about it.

I was interested in applying but am apparently not eligible as I don’t already have a personal blog. Sort of a silly rule. There are other ways to demonstrate one’s writing ability.
