I hate grocery plastic bags!

I hate that we need 2 billion of these each year. In Australia, it is close to 6 billion, and in the United-States, 380 billion. Globally, the number is almost 1 trillion (1,000,000,000,000).

I hate that, by the time I get home, half of them have holes and cannot be reused.

I hate how they cut the circulation in my fingers.

I hate how baggers will only put one or two items in each because they are so flimsy.

I hate the fact that I can’t line them up in the back of my car and they just pile up and release their content when I drive.

There are many other reasons to hate them.

When we lived in North Carolina 15 years ago, our grocery store would sell these big canvas bags for only $3. We had six and kept them in the trunk of the car so that they would always be there when we needed them. Now I only have one left.

If you’re a Quebec citizen, please visit this site and sign the petition supporting Bill 390, an Act to prohibit the distribution of non-biodegradable plastic bags. If you have a blog, please link to it.
