Things they should have learned in civil engineering school

Like most people, I enjoyed the Formula 1 Grand Prix from the “confort” of my home. If you want to know what it was like to be there, bizu has just posted some images in his Flickr account.
For a time, my daughter was trying to guess what some of the European sponsors were selling. She nailed RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) but we coudn’t tell what was the deal with Orange. We still can’t figure out what this company is about, even after visiting their web page. Time to find another marketing company.
I just watched Mr & Mrs Smith and I was on my way home on my bike when I came across a Ferrari. I thought “Nice”. In front of of it was another one and I though “Waouh, two Ferraris”. Then came another and another and another and another. There were Ferraris from one corner to the other. I don’t know what’s going tonight, but it was worth stopping for. I take much pride in taking the following two shots. No tripod and no flash, that means no shaking allowed. A flash would make the pictures very dark. These are my two best shots out of six of these cars tonight. Not breathing while taking the shots really helped :P
Other than that, there were cops on horses on Mont-Royal Street.

Downtown Atlanta suffers from the worst case of dead-downtown syndrome that I have seen since Indianapolis. Everything (and I mean everything) closes at 4h30 PM.
When you get to a crossroad, the turning light come on first and is then followed by the pedestrian crossing light. I was almost run over twice after allowing my Canadian genes to take over.
On Wednesday evening, around 5h30 PM, I finally saw crowds gathering in Centennial Park for a Jazz concert. This was the end of my biggest day so I decided to first wash up and get something to eat. When I returned, at 8h30 PM, it was all over…and it wasn’t even dark.
Although nothing around here comes even close to the Fountain of Rings.

Howdy!
First there was (is) L’Affaire Roadsworth, and now the city is screwing up again. This time they decided to censor Zahra Kazemi’s photos. Read about it here. (Hmmm, maybe the CBC arts coverage is getting better, two links from me, in one week!)
From what I understand, the Cote Saint Luc library asked Mr. Hashemi to exhibit his mother’s photographs there, and then took them down after receiving one (yes, that’s right, one, un, uno, 1) complaint. (I’d love to see how much that person donated to Mayor Robert Libman’s campaign.)
As we’ve been through this drill before, can I suggest that you email Mr. Libman, and tell him what you think? (aww heck, his phone number is: (514) 485-6936 give him a call)
And then, if you’d like to see Ms. Zahra Kazemi’s photos, click here, ok? Thanks.
Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I’ve spoken with St

From this week’s Instant Coffee, with something happening here, too. (I don’t know whether to be ashamed, or proud.)
