Gas is crap and STM could do better.

IMG_3215.jpgI was driving to Future Shop and on my way, this horrible sight caught my attention. Well, it’s nothing new, but with gas prices that high, we should all use bicycles. It doesn’t hurt the environment like cars do. On the photo that’s just Esso, but the same price goes for other companies as well, except for Shell. Their price is at 96.9 which makes no difference, because it’s still so expensive.
Seriously, bicycle people. It keeps you in shape (or at least it contributes to that), it doesn’t pollute, there’s no worry about traffic, parking and parking tickets, and from my experience, it’s quicker than public transportations and always quicker than cars at rush hour. And the best part of all: it costs way less than a car.
During winter, I think those gas prices can really increase the use of the subway. That pretty much means an increase in the budget of the STM who should really improve their service. Their blocking doors campaign, initiated a few weeks ago, really isn’t working, especially while students are on strike.

On another topic regarding more the whole country than just Montreal, three Canadian cardinals will be among those who will elect the new Pope.
