It’s finally over!

The start of the SAQ strike completely blindsided me, I had nothing in reserve. For almost three month, I “survived” on beer and the generosity of friends and family who either anticipated the strike or walked through picket lines (something I wasn’t willing to do). It took me numerous tries simply to find a half-decent bottle of red from the grocery shelves (Oro, from Chile). We rapidly gave up on the whites.

Stores should open on Friday and I find myself wondering what my first purchase of the year will be. Ice cider? A 12 year old Single Malt? Maybe even a bottle of Champagne to celebrate that huge paper that was accepted last week.

How about you?

Not ice cider for me. One of the few places you could get anything interesting to drink at Christmastime – without crossing a picket line and standing in line for an hour – was the Saveurs du Qu

    Howdy!

I apologize in advance if this ends up sounding too aggressive, it is not intended that way. But, I find it interesting that you would not cross a picket line, but would accept other people doing so on your behalf.

No problemo, I should mention that I never asked anybody to buy stuff for my own consumption. I was talking about the wine & scotch that were offered while I was visiting. My principles are certainly not as strong as the attractiveness of free booze ;-)

    Howdy!

My mistake, sorry. And I would agree, principles are one thing, free booze is something very different.
